Ever wondered how to dry dock a prawn trawler?Here's how, Darwin style...
First, find your trawler...
...keep looking...
...finally, ring up the skipper, who describes it and you realise that you are in fact looking straight at it.
It's the one in the middle.
Find a driver...
...and head for the lock. Darwin tides are very big and the lock lets the harbour where the boats park, known as the Duck Pond,remain tideless.
The lock gate slides shut behind us...
...the sluice gate opens and raises us up to sea level...
...the sea gate opens...
...and off we go, the crew having an easy time of it.

...and here is what we have to aim at, the bit between the blue things...
...but first we wait while the shore folk have a smokeoh.
